At the start of the 2026–27 winter semester, more than 2,200 first-year students will begin their studies at the University of Siegen. The university expects a total of about 13,000 students—despite the “small high school graduating class.”

Teams of students present innovative startup ideas at the concept stage: The University of Siegen’s MedTech business simulation allows students to develop market-ready startup concepts in medical technology and medical informatics and pitch them to a panel of experts. 

The University of Siegen is receiving just under one million euros for the CODROMO research project. Funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the project aims to develop a system that safely coordinates drone logistics in urban areas. The focus is on fast deliveries, clear rules, and technology for the future.
