Italian

Our Italian courses help you better understand the country, its culture, and everyday life—from Italian movies and music to food, fashion, and daily life at university in Italy. In our courses, you’ll practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in real-life contexts and can put what you’ve learned to the test right away—whether you’re traveling, studying, or interacting with Italian students.

Japanese

The Language Center offers Japanese courses at various proficiency levels (e.g., A1–B1). The courses teach basic spoken and written language skills and prepare students for further study. The courses are based on the international proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Key Competencies

Communication is a key skill that is naturally an integral part of the Language Center’s language courses. Intercultural competence, giving presentations and conducting conversations in (foreign) languages, written communication in various situational contexts, and much more are all part of the action-oriented acquisition of a language.

In addition, the Language Center also offers courses on specific aspects of communication that are open to students from all Schools and can be used as additional qualifications, as part of the required-elective curriculum, or as components of certificates.

Language Café

At the language café, participants not only play games together but also engage in conversations about personal topics, culture, or regional studies, with the language café team facilitating and providing support.

Language Learning Tandem

Tandem language learning is a form of autonomous and intercultural learning. Language learning tandems offer the opportunity to improve foreign language skills in a targeted way through interaction with native speakers, while also gaining intercultural insights. In addition, you can choose your own topics within your area of interest and focus on developing specific skills.
