The Study Bridge (Studienbrücke) - 
Your optimal preparation for university!

Prepare for a German-language Bachelor's degree in Germany while still in your home country (at all participating Goethe-Instituts).

What is the Study Bridge?

The Studienbrücke is a preparatory study program run by the Goethe-Institutin cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German partner universities in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg. The program prepares pupils or school leavers with outstanding academic achievements who are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree at a German partner university in a STEM subject (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) or in economics in a targeted manner in terms of language, subject-specific language and learning culture.

 

Contents of the study bridge

After successfully completing the study bridge - German courses up to level B2/C1, technical language STEM modules (mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, engineering) or business modules, exam preparation and taking the TestDaF and TestAS, intercultural training, study advice - you will apply to one of the partner universities in Germany.

The Studienbrücke
is a preparatory study program run by the Goethe-Institut in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German partner universities in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg. The program prepares pupils or school leavers with outstanding academic achievements who are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree at a German partner university in a STEM subject (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) or in economics in a targeted manner in terms of language, technical language and learning culture.

After successfully completing the study bridge - German courses up to level B2/C1, technical language STEM modules (mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, engineering) or business modules, exam preparation and taking the TestDaF and TestAS, intercultural training, study counseling - you will apply to one of the partner universities in Germany.

The study bridge is aimed at pupils who

  • are interested in STEM subjects or economics,
  • already have German language skills,
  • have a desire to study in Germany,
  • are motivated and committed,
  • live in a country where the Studienbrücke is offered.

Please contact the Goethe-Institut in your home country and ask whether the "Studienbrücke" program is offered there. You will receive all further information there.

If there is no Studienbrücke program in your home country, the VORsprung program may be of interest to you.

If you are interested in studying at the University of Siegen, select the University of Siegen as one of your preferred universities as soon as the application portal is open and enter two preferred subjects.

You will then receive all information about accommodation and the rest of the process from us after the application deadline.

If you want to study with the Studienbrücke program in Siegen, you must meet the following requirements:

  • your school-leaving certificate
  • the completion of the Studienbrücke program
  • the correct TestAS subject module
  • TestAS: 100 in both modules
  • TestDaF: 4 x TDN 4 (no compensation possible!) (or another language certificate)

Then you can take part in our preparatory German course for 1-2 semesters, which will prepare you for the DSH exam. As soon as you have passed DSH 2, you can transfer directly to your degree course.

Information about the German course

All international students can take advantage of a wide range of activities for orientation, networking and career preparation and have direct contact persons for questions and problems.

Participants of the Studienbrücke have additional offers:

  • Personal support and advice, direct contact person
  • Support with visa applications
  • (almost guaranteed) room in a hall of residence
  • Networking with older Studienbrücke students directly after admission
  • Support with arrival and administrative steps
  • Regular activities

If you are willing to take a room from September and if you keep in regular contact with us, we can reserve a room for you in a hall of residence.
