Careers Need Role Models

For 16 years, the FraMeS mentoring program at the University of Siegen has been supporting female researchers in advancing their academic careers. At the kickoff event for the new cohort, twelve new mentees were welcomed, and ten participants were honored for successfully completing the program.

Overview of Service Disruptions and Alternate Routes for Train Service to Siegen

In the coming months, Deutsche Bahn will be carrying out extensive modernization and renovation work on rail lines in North Rhine-Westphalia. A new structure for greater diversity and participation

On the 14th National Diversity Day, the University of Siegen officially launched its new Office for Equal Opportunity with a diverse program of events. Alumna Maria Popov provided a special highlight with her talk titled “From Siegen to the Media World: Perspectives of a New Generation.”

Compensation for guest lectures and travel expenses (external)

Fees for guest lectures at the University of Siegen: External speakers may be invited to supplement the course offerings and are compensated with a fee (generally up to €500). Accommodation and travel expenses are also reimbursed under certain conditions. Payment is made after the guest lecture has been delivered and in accordance with the applicable guidelines of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Travel Expenses Act.

Contracts for Services and Fee Agreements for Individuals and Small Businesses

As a general rule, tasks assigned to the university must be performed by employees of the University of Siegen; this means that entering into a contract for services may not be used to meet staffing needs or to circumvent the establishment of an employment relationship.
Contracts for services and fee-based contracts are intended to meet operational needs; as such, they are generally subject to public procurement law and are therefore awarded in accordance with public procurement regulations.

Counseling Services in English

The Language Center offers personalized counseling services for all English learners. These include writing counseling, which provides support with composing texts, as well as language learning counseling, which teaches methods and strategies for effective English learning.
